Move that body!

When I want to recharge my batteries I go for a run in the Villa Ada park just under my house. It is the second largest park and one of the many beautiful lush gardens in the heart of Rome. Running for one hour in between the old houses which once were the residence of the Italian Royal House of Savoy really gives you a good start for the day. The park is open between 07.00-22.00 and the best time to run is early before the morning traffic.

I meet other enthusiastic runners, bikers as well as dogs with their owners. The best, of course, is that I always finish my run with an Italian breakfast - 'un cappuccino con il cornetto - at the bar 'lo Scoiattolo' close to the main entrance. A really wonderful way to cool down and one of my favourite places to observe sporty Romans...

So next time you visit Rome, take your sneakers with you and have a run in this beautiful park! Or if you feel like having a break from touring the city prepare your picnic basket and enjoy a realxing afternoon in the park.

Known not only for its beauty, Villa Ada is also a popular venue for many artistic and musical events. For those interested in music check out the Villa Ada Summer Festival (25.6.-31.7.).

Buon fine settimana!

Salla
