For animal lovers!

Both me and Salla are animal lovers! Cats, dogs, horses -big and small - we love them all. Ten years ago in July I found a dog running free in the fields near Pisa and took her home. Londra, a Maremman sheppard dog, was my and my mothers' pride and joy until her death on February 2015.

Excatly ten years later, a few days ago, I got a message from a friend who had found an abbandoned puppy in Florence. A "Maremmano" of course. And soon the rescue mission was on - time to find a home for this beautiful puppy!

Since I have already two cats and we travel a lot, I asked the owner of my "maneggio", the riding stables, if she wanted another dog. She took the puppy home and it is now the happiest dog in the world playing with the older dog in the house! They named him "Teseo" according to an ancient Greek god. . .

These stories don't always end happily. Over 200 000 cats and dogs are abbandoned in Italy each year. Fortunately there a great people who volunteer and search homes for these creatures without home. Don't hesitate to ask me more if you would like to adopt a cat or a dog from Italy!

My beloved black cats, Kikki and Pippi, have also been adobded. Kikki, the older beauty was found almost a year ago from a hole under an olive tree just across our home street. Scared, lonely and full of fleas we took him home and he has become an elegant and sophisticated handsome young man.

Pippi insted came to us in June after I found out that the owner wanted to give away the new born kittens. It took Kikki two weeks to accept his new brother and now you just can't separet them anymore!

Ciao!

Ella
